Making books cross the final frontiers

Ralph C. Edenhofer

How does a 43-year-old physicist come to start writing novels? It’s simple: If you can’t find enough of the stories you would like to read in the bookstore, you have to get to work yourself. A love of the (self-)written word is helpful, of course. All the better if you have a few interesting worlds from self-designed role-playing scenarios lying around in your drawer. For someone who has a doctorate in engineering, a bit of semi-realistic technology is essential. And for an amateur astronomer it is not difficult to leave the earth’s surface and go to other planets, at least in an imaginary way. Add to that a good pinch of stamina to complete the last paragraph as well. And Voilá! There you have it, the science fiction writer.

Updates on the world of the 23rd century, if there are any, will be announced on Facebook and on my author homepage www.century23.de.
